GCH CH Draco Greets Dassin With Fourbears

The Del-Ootse-Nango Kennel Club, the Chenango Valley Kennel Club, & the Central New York Kennel Club chose Syracuse NY as the site for their three show cluster last weekend.  The DKC had day one and Chuck Winslow had the first final.  Hoping to pick up one of the top prizes were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Boxer, GCH CH Draco Greets Dassin With Fourbears, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Chinese Shar-Pei,             Tzo Wens Sweet Baby Jane, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Pine Hill's Payday of Hayshill.

Day one’s Top Two were the Boxer, Margee, and the Harrier, Chet.  It was the fourth BIS this year in limited showing for Margee and handler Kimberly Pastella-Calvacca

The Harrier, Chet, would own the next two days taking both the big rosettes at the CVKC & the CNYKC.  At Saturday’s CVKC BIS judge Alberto Berrios would like Chet more than the returning IWS, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Holly Woods Cat Woman, the above named Lakeland, the RBIS,  the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, or the Puli, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Twist and Shout.

Sunday Terry Berrios would choose the same two out of a seven that included the previously seen IWS, Doberman, Lakeland, the Miniature Poodle, and Puli.  Chet and handler Suzy Olivera finish a five show, three state, two time zones week with three BIS and two RBIS.  The Number Two Hound now has 21 BIS and leads the Hound Group with a remarkable 90 Group Ones.

FOUR DAYS IN CHICKASA OK



GCH CH Harmony Hills Money Talks

Exhibitors had four days last weekend to spend in Chicasha OK with the Town And Country Kennel Club and the Canadian Valley Kennel Club.  The TCKC got things started on Thursday, asking Fred Bassett to choose the cluster’s first BIS.  His options were the German Wirehaired Pointer, Ehrenvogel Say Cheese, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Colored Bull Terrier, GCH CH Glentom's You Were Mint For Me, the Pug, KNGZ Barney Rubble at Pugapoohs, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH Finkkila's Nalle Poike, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hills Money Talks. 
Scoring the first BIS of the set was the Aussie, Cash.  Reserve went to the Spitz.

Cash and the aforementioned Boxer, Macey would return to take the top prizes at Friday’s TCKC show.  Joining them in Barbara Ann Brooks final were the Pharaoh Hound, CH Faouziah's Faramir, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Skyscot's Texas Hold 'Em, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Everafter's Best Bet Yet, and the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante Fire When Ready.  Cash is the Number One Australian Shepherd in the US with seven BIS and 29 Herding Groups.

Tim Catterson took over for the CVKC on Saturday and greeted Macey, the above named Norwich, Decker, the returning Schipperke, TJ, the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Newstead Echoes Of Love, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Heathers A Little Night Music, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Lohona Zephyr I Can't Look Away, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Row-Bars Heartbreaker.    Once again Macey would take the RBIS, while TJ would grab the BIS.  TJ is the Country’s Number One Schipperke and Number Four Non-Sporting Dog with six BIS and 43 Non-Sporting groups this year.

Marcia Feld closed the set, choosing the Cocker, Elvis, as her Best In Show, and the Bloodhound, Maverick, as her Reserve.  Vying for her attention were the Samoyed, GCH CH Polar Mist Cruz'n T'Party At Zamosky, the Norwich, Decker, the Havanese, Havdiss Catching Fire, the Schipperke, TJ, and the Icelandic Sheepdog, CH Emerald Isle Grima.

DID YOU WATCH IT ON TV?

We are taking a break from the kitchen to watch the NBC broadcast of the National Dog Show, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s Saturday, November 17th show, the third show of the four show cluster hosted by the KCP, the Penn Treaty Kennel Club, & the Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association.

The cluster started on Thursday with the PTKC who ended the day with Evie Sullivan in the final ring with the English Setter, CH Set'R Ridge Brasswinds Blueprint, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wica’s Trade Secret, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Giorgio Armani, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Inspired Roxanne for Stuart.

Taking the first RBIS & BIS of the set were the Xolo, Armani, and the Harrier, Chet.  That’s the 19th this year for the country’s Number Two Hound.

Only the English Setter, would make it back to see BIS judge Ben Hlfrich at Friday’s  GPDFA Show.  The six new hopefuls were the Borzoi, GCH  CH Aashtoria Wildhunt 4 Your I's Only RN, the Boxer, GCH CH Jacquet's Laredo El Encanto, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Papillon, GCH CH Involo The King Of Pop, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's Tenzin, the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Collinswood One In A Million NA NAJ.

Day two’s Reserve award went to the Papillon, while the Scottie, Phoebe, would scamper off with the Best In Show.  The country’s Number Two Terrier now has ten BIS & 83Terrier Groups this year.

Everyone wore their television broadcast worthy outfits on Saturday in hopes that they might get a cameo during the Thanksgiving broadcast in Vicki Abbbot's final.  The seven dogs that got the most air time were the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Sandscape Pardon Me Boys, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Great Dane, GCH CH Lobato’s Jitterbug Man, the previously seen Wire Fox, Affenpinscher, & Tibetan Spaniel, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.


Getting some extra TV time was the Affenpinscher, Joey, while the Wire Fox, Sky, got the spotlight and the Best In Show.  Sky is the country’s Number One Terrier and has many of the country’s marquee titles among her 33 BIS awards this year.

At Sunday’s KCP closer  Sky and Joe would again take the top awards.   Except this time Joey would collect the BIS and Sky would get the RBIS.  Also asking for Dr Alvin Krause’s consideration were the now familiar English Setter, American Foxhound, & Tibetan Spaniel, the Rottweiler, CH Nighthawk's Livin' La Vida Loca, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Devinwood’s A Perfect Stranger.

Joey is AKC’s Number One Toy Dog with 36 BIS and an amazing 115 Toy Groups.

TOP TWO IN TUCSON

As our top dogs scrambled all over the country in search of points in this waning year, Once again we had our Top Two Dogs All Breeds going head to head in the Sporting group for the privilege to compete for Best In Show.  The meeting came at Monday’s Greater Sierra Vista Kennel Club  show in Tucson AZ..

The four show cluster began, minus the Top Two, on Friday with the Tucson Kennel Club’s  first of two shows.   The seven in Cecelia Ringstrom’s final were the English Setter, GCH CH Oakely’s B’Dazzled, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Tievoli Rumors Oh Hail Yeah MW, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Topaz Silver Lining, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Syrah D'Hermitage, the Pug, GCH CH  Winsome-Nirvana-Blaque Triple Play, the Shiba Inu, GCH CH Kishi's Mojo Desert Sun, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cake Walk.

The day one awards went to the Dachshund, Hail, who received the Reserve, and the English Setter, Dazzle, who took home the Best In Show.  Dazzle is the nation’s Number One English Setter, the Number Four Sporting Dog, and the Number 14 Dog All Breeds with eleven BIS this year.

At Saturday’s TKC day two show Richard Beauchamp would see the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Dogwdcreek's La Vite E Bella, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the same Siberian & Bedlington, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere’s Dusting of White at Pevyne, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay’s Power & Privilege, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Cottonwood Man In The Moon.

Judge Beauchamp’s RBIS was the Bloodhound, Kissy, and his BIS, was the Peke, Dusty.  Dusty is AKC’s Number One Pekingese, Number Three Toy Dog, and Number 18 Dog All Breeds with eleven BIS.

The GSVKC took over on Sunday and put Lisa Warren in the final ring with the Weimaraner, GCH CH  Silhouettes LifeInTheFastlane, the Whippet, GCH CH Endeavor's White Roses on Nysa Hill, the Bernese Mountain Dog, Magic Berners White Magic, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona VIP, the Peke, Dusty, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Kastle’s Go Speed Racer, and the previously seen OES.

Her Best was the Dalmatian, Speed, and her Reserve was the Mini Bull, Simon.  It’s the second BIS this year for Speed in nine final appearances.

On Monday Lisa Warren would have a star studded Sporting Group, including the US’ Number One Dog All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, and the Number Two Dog, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova.   She would send the GWP, Oakley, on to Anne Katona’s final and award the Springer, a Group Three.

Oakley would face the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Great Dane, GCH CH Naples Tlbrk Dana Sanroque Naika Ika Pono, the Welsh Terrier, CH Malvado Rayne Beau, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Déjà vu I Want’A Talk about Me, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Sunclipse Mystique, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum Of Samara.

Finishing one/two were Oakley and the Harrier. Chet.  The win, Oakley’s 66th of the year and third of the week, leaves him about 2200 points ahead of the Springer, Peyton, who added four BIS to his resume, bringing his 2012 total to 57.
