The Rio Grande Kennel Club and the Coronado Kennel Club of New Mexico offered exhibitors with lots of free time one of the more creative show options, hosting four shows in Albuquerque NM, May 9th-May 12th.  One might think that the Saturday to Tuesday format would not draw well.  One would be wrong.  The four day stop topped 5,000 entries.

The availability of big points drew Top Ten competition and one dog, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, made the most of it, taking three of the four BIS awards.  At Saturday’s RGKC show Danny impressed judge Russell McFadden more than did the RBIS, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek's Limited Edition, who impressed him more than did the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash's Ruggedly Handsome, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Casablanca’s Vakmero Pandur, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona’s VIP, the Bulldog, Pop-a-Top Chimera Deal Me In, or the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Travler Kelise Overdrive.

Sunday  judge Dr Robert D Smith would see it the same way naming Danny his Best and the Bloodhound, BOB, his Reserve, after considering the same Brittany & MiniBull, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo’s Continuation Of A Myth, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Eastern-Magic Fly Me Safe, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Vonzo Frank.

The CKCNM took over on Monday and asked judge Jay Richardson to choose his BIS and RBIS from the now familiar Brittany, Beckett, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen , GCH CH Iceage v Tum-Tums Vriendjes, the aforementioned Kuvasz, the above named MiniBull, the Pom, Danny, the Bulldog, GCH CH Wilson’s I’m Your Handyman, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Tang Dynasty Rocky.

Once again, Danny would take the big rosette while the Brittany, Beckett, would collect the reserve ribbon.  Danny is the nation’s Number One Toy Dog and Number Two Dog All Breeds with 16 BI and 41 Toy Groups through May 12th.

Judge Charlotte Patterson would see it the other way round at Tuesday’s CKCNM closer, naming Beckett her Best In Show and Danny her Reserve.  Rounding out her seven were the returning PBGV, Kuvasz. & MiniBull, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Sabe's Simply Invincible, and the German Shepherd Dog, Poh Moreno.

Beckett is the US’ Number One Sporting Dog and Number Four Dog All Breeds with 13 BIS and 36 Sporting Groups through May 12th.
